MICHAEL D. HATLEY

 
PRESIDENT & PORTFOLIO MANAGER  

Michael D. Hatley joined the West Gate Horizons Advisors, LLC Investment Team in December 1995 and is currently President and Portfolio Manager with over 25 years of experience in the area of corporate credit analysis and the management of senior secured corporate loans portfolios.

Mr. Hatley is responsible for all aspects of portfolio management, trading and risk management for the investment portfolios. Mr. Hatley oversees all of the firm’s Credit Analysts, the firm’s trading, structured product, and compliance activities.

Mr. Hatley is a widely recognized and respected investment professional in the U.S. bank loan market. From 2001 through 2003, Mr. Hatley served on the Board of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (the “LSTA”) which serves as the Trade Association for the floating rate bank loan market. In addition, he is invited to speak often at conferences held by industry associations, investment banks and commercial banks.

Prior to the formation of WGHA, Mr. Hatley worked at Pilgrim Prime Rate Trust as an assistant portfolio manager for seven years overseeing Pilgrim’s $1 billion portfolio of bank loans. He also served as a Vice President at First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles for approximately 10 years prior to Pilgrim where he held a number of positions in the area of national and correspondent banking. At First Interstate, he also served as Director of the Bank’s Credit Training.

Mr. Hatley holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri and an MBA in Finance from Indiana University.
